Drawing guidelines

A comprehensive overview of the requirements for cutting and bending specification files

  • DXF file(2D for cutting)

    • One separate file for each product.
    • Cutting lines should be marked in white continuous lines. Engraving lines are marked in yellow.
    • The contour lines in a DFX file should not be left open or overlap.
    • Any additional content in the DFX should be removed.
    • Drawings are true-to-scale 1:1.
    • Never save the product drawing as a BLOCK layout.
    • The smallest possible hole for laser cutting = 0.5 x plate thickness (note: 0.7 for aluminium), but never smaller than 1.5 mm.
    • If you are placing an order for POLISHED materials, the (imagined) polish grain must run horizontally in the DFX file.
  • STEP – STP file (3D, for cutting and/or bending)

    • You can upload a composition of products.
    • Create a file from a sheet model with radii showing bends.
    • Draw large radii with individual settings.
    • Draw the ‘drill’ diameter (no diagonal sides) for the countersunk or tapped holes.
    • Draw cut-outs at right angles to the sheet or plate (the cutting head cannot cut diagonally).
    • STEP files for flat parts may only contain cutting lines: any bending zones or additional information must be removed.
  • Drawing specifications for laser cutting tubes

    • Holes and notches in the radius are only allowed after approval by De Cromvoirtse.
    • No rounding off of notches in the tube radius. In other words, if there is a hole with corners (square, rectangular etc.) halfway along the radius, no rounding off in the hole.
    • We cut as a standard in 2.5D; please state clearly if 3D cutting is required.
  • Uploading CSV files

You can also send a CSV file for your cutting order together with your STEP/DFX/PDF files in our portal. All the information not included on the STEP or DFX file is then automatically supplemented through the attached CSV file. Making a CSV file can be done easily in Excel.

Most software applications can also export a CSV file. To ensure that our portal knows what your export file contains, you need to fill out a one-time translation table on our portal.
